Sneakerheads who had assumed that Jordan Brand’s celebrations for their 30th Anniversary were going to be limited to the United States are probably going to be quite surprised by this revelation. Last month or so, a video was posted on the Nike Taiwan YouTube account that dropped certain hints. While the video had nothing to do with a potential Jordan release date 2015, it did allude to the fact that Jordan Brand had some kind of a special 30th Anniversary celebration planned that would be taking place in China.
It was recently revealed that a new Jordan House of Flight has been launched by Jordan Brand in Shanghai, China and Jordanheads get to have a look at the celebrations that took place inside. The inside of the Shanghai-based Jordan House of Flight feels and looks like a museum, with memorabilia from the 30-year-old Air Jordan history, photographs, and vintage Air Jordan displays. Of course, no Jordan House of Flight would be complete without some basketball taking place.
Well, some Jordan Brand professional athletes can also be expected to show up to shoot some hoops, while Flight Camp sessions will also be hosted for youth. Best of all, Michael Jordan himself and Jordan Brand’s legendary designer, Tinker Hatfield, will also appear at the Jordan House of Flight in Shanghai to join the celebrations. There will be plenty of interactive experiences that Jordan Brand’s loyal customers will be able to enjoy there, which makes it worth visiting for those who are actually there in China.
As for the stateside Jordanheads, they can only hope that a community event of this nature will be hosted in the United States next year, such as the NBA All Star Weekend that took place in NYC. Sneakerheads must also not forget rumors that the Air Jordan 30 might just get unveiled in China too and its Jordan release 2015 might also take place there.
