Jordan Brand has loads of plans for this summer, whether they involve dropping new colorways of iconic Air Jordan models or remastered iterations of Air Jordan classics from the past. It is just April and Jordan Brand is already planning to release a very magnificent selection of sneakers, such as the latest Air Jordan 5 colorways, low-top Air Jordan 6 pairs and the unexpected return of the Air Jordan Son of Mars Low. Keeping in mind the not-so-distant warm months, this simplistic “Militia Green” colorway of the Air Jordan 9 will make an ideal addition to Jordan Brand’s Summer 2015 collection.
There are plenty of reasons why the Air Jordan 9 is regarded as a sneaker that arouses curiosity. For instance, when the Jordan 9 was introduced, it was the first time ever that Michael Jordan never wore a signature Air Jordan pair on court. Moreover, back when Air Jordan sneakers were more about performanc than about fashion and style, Jordan Brand was already dropping the Jordan 9 in lifestyle colorways. All previous Air Jordan silhouette had featured references to the Chicago Bulls or the North Carolina Tarheels, but pairs like the “Olive” colorway of the Jordan 9 were nothing like that. Years later, Jordan Brand apparently decided to carry on with that trend by whipping up this Air Jordan 9 “Militia Green.”
Much like the “Olive” color scheme from 1993, this “Militia Green” colorway is also dressed up in casual hues. The body of this sneaker is made up of premium, pure white leather, while the tongue consists of black leather and mesh. The rarely seen Military Green shade makes an appearance on the inner lining, lace eyelets and on the midsole, where appears to have an almost-metallic glimmer. If the rumors are correct, this Air Jordan 9 “Militia Green” sneaker is slated to likely hit the shelves on one of the August Jordan release dates, or later in the summer.
