23 is Back has come to know that in their latest remastering process, Jordan Brand is taking a trip back in the past when Retro+ colorways had emerged. In the process of unearthing the latest Jordan release dates 2014, it has been discovered that Jordan 4 “Columbia,” known for its prolific leather build, is expected to make a comeback very soon.
The information that apparently comes from Jordan Brand reveals that the lining will be the same as that seen on the original Jordan 6. However, apparently the pair will have more finely detailed Jumpan branding, and even the materials the pair will feature will be a step up in the scale of quality.
Of course, all of this will come at a price. It has been reported that anywhere between a 10% and 15% increase in prices of upcoming Jordan retros can be expected, depending on the model. The same could be the case with this Jordan 4 “Columbia.”
For Air Jordan line back in the days, the retro Jordan 4 “Columbia” was something different and unique. Back then, its official name was Jordan 4+ “Columbia.” The silhouette and sole of the shoe was just like those of the other retro Jordan 4s, but Jordan Brand had made some cosmetic changes.
First, leather was used the heel tab and “wings” instead of plastic. Next, Jordan Brand added a couple of air holes in the leather on the sides and tongues instead of the netting that used to be there. Finally, something that actually offended sneaker aficionados to quite an extent, a Jumpman logo was added on the back in place of the large Nike Air logo.
Unlike the true Jordan 4 retros, the sales of the “Columbia” colorway were not as successful, but finding on in decent shape today is almost impossible. The fact that a glossy finish was featured on the midsole was something special about this pair too.
The bottom line that 23isBack would like to point out is that along with the price, the quality of the upcoming Jordan 4 “Columbia” will be up a notch. Since Jordan Brand is redoing all retro models for 2014 and 2015, it will also mean new materials. So, keep checking for the latest Jordan release dates 2014 to find out when this “Columbia” retro model will hit the shelves.
