At the beginning of this week, it was being reported that an enormous Nike restock was going to take place. It is become somewhat of a trend for Nike to drop sneakers out of the blue, surprising sneakerheads in the process, and that is precisely what they did this past Monday. With Jordanheads enthusiastically anticipating the announcement of further Jordan release dates 2015, they had likely not been expecting this restock or the fact that it would include the Air Jordan 3 “Sport Blue” from 2014.
A myriad of Air Jordan sneakers have been dressed up in the “Sport Blue” hue in the past and sneakerheads are quite fond of it. In Summer 2014, Jordan Brand dropped a “Sport Blue” colorway of the Air Jordan 3, that consisted of mostly Black upper with the signature Cement/Elephant Print overlays and Wolf Grey as the secondary hue. Of course, Sport Blue also makes an appearance on the sneaker on the eyelets, inner lining, midsole and outsole. Coincidentally, this was the last Air Jordan 3 pair to hit the shelves in recent times before Jordan Brand’s decision to discontinue to further colorways of the model, and it seemed that the AJ3 would never see the light of day again.
However, the latest Nike restock marked the return of several Air Jordan 6 colorways like the “Champagne,” “Cigar” and “Spizike” as well as Air Jordan 11 Low colorways like the “Concord” and “Nightshade.” Unexpectedly, the newly introduced SNKRS App by Nike alerted users tat the Air Jordan 3 “Sport Blue” also and its sudden comeback may have taken the sneaker community by surprise. After all, it was a second chance for Jordanheads who were not able to grab a pair when this colorway had made its retail debut.
While the Air Jordan 3 “Sport Blue” might have flown off the shelves as quickly as it arrived, the kicks are also available on eBay and Kixify. For those who are already own this sneaker or are just not interested to get their hands on it, there are plenty of upcoming Jordan release dates 2015 to look forward to.
