Sneakerheads should already know by now that the Air Jordan 16 “Midnight Navy” is making a comeback among November 2016’s Jordan releases. Fifteen years have passed since its original retail debut back in March 2001 and it had also arrived alongside the Air Jordan 7 as a part of 2008’s Countdown Package. Back in mid-October of this year, Marcus Jordan revealed that 2016 would mark the release of another colorway of the Air Jordan 16 as well. According to Marcus Jordan, this Air Jordan 16 iteration will be a Trophy Room-exclusive and now it has even been confirmed when this exclusive sneaker will be up for grabs.
Marcus Jordan first previewed the Trophy Room-exclusive Air Jordan 16 colorway, which has been dubbed “French Blue,” on October 13th. He had posted a video on Twitter, discussing the upcoming release of this Air Jordan 16 and also showcasing an actual pair of this iteration in that very video. Just recently, both DJ Khaled and Travis Scott also shared new photos of this sneaker on their respective Instagram accounts. DJ Khaled’s photo shows him holding just one shoe rather than the pair, while Travis’ photo is somewhat similar since it provides a zoom-in look at a single shoe. There is even a photo of DJ Khaled holding and providing a closer look at both shoes.
Based on what has been reported so far, the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 16 is apparently drawing its inspiration from the Washington Wizards. The Wizards are the second team that Michael Jordan played as a part of throughout his NBA career. The uppers of this Air Jordan 16 are made up of patent and tumbled leathers, which are dressed up in French Blue. White makes an appearance as a secondary hue over the branding and outsoles. As has been confirmed, this Air Jordan 16 “French Blue” will exclusively hit the shelves at Trophy Room on November 5th and each pair is going to cost $275.
