Jordan Brand is going to be dropping plenty of retro Air Jordan sneakers in 2015, including several retro colorways of the Air Jordan 1. However, many 23 is Back readers have probably been expecting to see some alternatives to all these remastered retros, and this Air Jordan Retro Low OG will serve that purpose well enough. February happens to be a special month for those who are blessed enough to have someone special by their side. So, Jordan Brand decided to pick one of the Jordan releases in 2015 for the retail debut of these special kicks.
Back in 2014, the Air Jordan Future model overshadowed Jordan Brand’s very first signature sneaker silhouette to quite an extent. However, since 2015 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Air Jordan 1 and the brand behind it, Jordan Brand is obviously going to pay special attention to their classic and iconic inaugural sneaker silhouette. Since red is a color that is very closely associated with Valentine’s Day, it makes perfect sense that Jordan Brand decided to release a retro “Bred” colorway in celebration of the occasion.
Originally, the Air Jordan 1 “Bred” had made its retail debut as a High version and had hit the shelves again in 2013. Apparently, Jordan Brand decided to scale down this new jordans for this year’s drop so that Jordanheads, including 23 is Back readers, would have some variety rather seeing the same old Air Jordan sneakers from years ago, regardless of their classic nature.
The upper of this Air Jordan 1 Low pair is made up of a combination of black and red leather overlays and underlays, with an entirely perforated red toe box. Despite deviating from its original version, as far as size is concerned, this sneaker still has an OG look because of the red Nike Air branding on the insole and the tongue. This pair also sports a black Jordan Wings logo on the heel and a red Nike Swoosh on the side.
There are probably many Jordanheads who would not even want to think about Valentine’s Day. However, there are also those who could cop this new jordans for themselves, or their boyfriends or husbands, in the spirit of romance. Since this is a Valentine’s Day release, it should be obvious that one of the Jordan release dates 2015 that Jordan Brand has selected its retail debut is February 14, 2015.
