Macklemore, the rapper from Seattle, has been one of Jordan Brand’s many ambassadors for quite some time now. Even though Michael Jordan was not quite fond of Air Jordan 6 Retro “Cactus” and “Clay” limited-edition versions that Macklemore had previous designed, the 23 pairs produced can still be regarded as collector’s items. As of lately, rumors have been circulating that Jordan Brand has once again given Macklemore another opportunity to design another exclusive sneaker iteration, this time utilizing the Air Jordan 12 as a base. Sneakerheads who are wondering if this could mean the upcoming Jordan release date 2015 a Macklemore x Air Jordan 12 PE colorway should continue reading.
Although many Jordanheads may not agree with this, the Air Jordan 12 “Playoffs” is one of the finest and most recognizable Air Jordan ever created. In fact, the Air Jordan 12 is one of Jordan Brand’s leading models with some of the most popular colorways, such as the “Flu Game” rendition that is making a comeback in 2016. Michael Jordan wore the Air Jordan 12 during some of the most prominent moments of his career, right before he retired from the NBA. While the Air Jordan 12 “Playoffs” was an edition that stood out from the rest, this potentially upcoming upgraded version looks even better.
If this supposedly Air Jordan 12 PE, dubbed “Wings,” has indeed been designed by Macklemore, then he has indeed done a remarkable job. While this Air Jordan 12 “Playoff” version is still dressed up in the same black and white color scheme, it is also equipped with gold lace eyelets and the grey Jordan “Jumpman” tab has been replaced with a gold Macklemore “Wings” tab. Currently, the same singular photo of the sneaker has been making rounds all over the Internet, so it is difficult to describe it in detail at the moment.
Regardless of the rumors and speculations, Jordan Brand was quick to update their loyal fans and followers that Macklemore is in no way involved with the creation of this special Air Jordan 12 “Playoffs” edition. Nonetheless, Jordan Brand has also not commented on whether this is a sample pair that may retail, which the Jordan release 2015 of sneaker can be expected in the near future.
