At some point or another, 23 is Back readers may have likely heard of the name Hiroshi Fujiwara, a iconic, influential Japanese designer/stylist and musician. He is among the topmost influential individuals in the history of sneakers. In the past, Hiroshi has shown an inclination towards outfitting only newer models, but this time he is designing an Air Jordan 1 as collaboration between Jordan Brand and his Fragment Design label. Since there is no news of a date of release, for now this is among the unconfirmed 2014 and Jordan release dates 2015 category.
Out of all the sneaker silhouettes that have been released by Jordan Brand over the years, the Air Jordan 1 has been among the new jordans that Jordan heads seek to own. A wide range of colorways of the sneaker have hit the shelves, and now, this exclusive colorway designed by Hiroshi Fujiwara may also drop very soon.
Hiroshi Fujiwara apparently has a natural liking for the Air Jordan 1 silhouette, which has been mentioned in the book about him that was recently published by Rizzoli. Maybe that is why Hiroshi did not design this pair in such a way that would alter the silhouette itself, rather he simply seems to have come up colorway that could be mistaken for an original.
As of lately, Hiroshi’s Fragment Design label has been frequently collaborating with Nike and now, the Air Jordan 1 will be boasting label’s signature double-lightning strike logo, which is debossed on the heel. These kicks even resemble the classic “Black Toe” and “Royal” colorways of the Air Jordan 1. Of course, the pair also features the Jordan Brand wing logo and the Nike “swoosh” on the sides.
Currently, minimum details are available regarding the release of this Fragment Design x Jordan 1 Retro OG, which are being posted here on 23 is Back. So, for now, this pair joins other recently unveiled AJs with unannounced 23isback release dates associated with them.
