Over the past few years, the practice of customizing existing sneaker models and silhouettes has gained tremendous popularity. No doubt, there are already countless dope kicks that are officially released throughout the year by well-known brands like Nike and Jordan Brand, but that does not mean that custom sneaker iterations and renditions go unnoticed. Take for instance this custom “Salmon Toe” colorway of Air Jordan 5 designed by Fuda Customs, which may never hit the shelves at one of the Jordan release dates 2015, but certainly draws attention.
From the looks of it, Fuda Customs utilized the Air Jordan 5 “Pre Grape” to serve as the base and canvas for his reimagined rendition in the form of this “Salmon Toe” colorway. The “Pre Grape” was an away based alternative or variation to the classic Air Jordan 5 “Grape,” both of which were designed by Tinker Hatfield. Inspired by the Charlotte Hornets, the Air Jordan 5 “Pre Grape” was nothing more than an original concept and sample until May 2nd, 2015 when it finally arrived at retailers.
It seems that Fuda Customs also grabbed a pair of the Air Jordan 5 “Pre Grape” and apparently he had more on his mind that just lacing up in the kicks. This custom colorway of the Air Jordan 5 gets its name from vivid Salmon hue that not only covers the toebox of this sneaker but its shark teeth accents as well. It appears that this is the only modification that Futa Custom made to this sneaker since its upper is still dressed up in the original Midnight Navy hue.
While not a very elaborate custom iteration, the Air Jordan 5 “Salmon Toe” is still an eye catching custom take on the Air Jordan 5 “Pre Grape” that was released not so long ago. While sneakerheads will not be able to get their hands on the Air Jordan 5 “Salmon Toe” on any of the upcoming Jordan release dates 2015, many of them are probably wishing that their “Pre Grape” Jordan 5 looked like this too.
