These Four Jordan Spiz’ike OG “Cement” Colorways Are Making A Comeback In June

Many sneakerheads love it, others hate it, but it is obvious that Jordan Brand has not given up on the Jordan Spiz’ike. Originally, Jordan Brand had actually intended to drop just a single colorway of this hybrid model. However, when Nike took notice of how successful this silhouette turned out to be, numerous colorways were whipped up and hit the shelves all over the globe. Even back in 2015, Jordan Brand dropped a bunch of different colorways of the Jordan Spiz’ike. Sneakerheads may or may not already know, but this year’s Air Jordan releases 2017 will also include several of the original Jordan Spiz’ike “Cement” colorways.

When Jordan Brand was designing the Jordan Spiz’ike in collaboration with Spike Lee, they borrowed elements and features from six different Air Jordan models. Namely, they borrowed the elephant print from the Air Jordan 3, the side panel mesh and wings from the Air Jordan 4, the the eyelets and overall design from the Air Jordan 5, the lace locks and tongues from the Air Jordan 6, the back tabs from the Air Jordan 9, and the sockliner lasered graphics from the Air Jordan 20. Over the years, there have been numerous iconic Spiz’ike releases, such as the “True Blue” from 2007 and the “Infrared” from 2010.

Along with the elephant print borrowed from the Air Jordan 3, the Cement Grey hue has appeared over a number of Spiz’ike iterations, all of which have been collectively dubbed “Cement” releases. Sneakerheads may have already known about the return of the Jordan Spiz’ike “White Cement.” Back in April, it was also revealed the OG “Cement” and the “Fresh Since ‘85” colorway, while it has recently been revealed that even the “Black Cement” colorway is also making its comeback. One aspect that all of these classic Spiz’ike iterations have in common is the fact that their elephant print overlays are covered in the Cement Grey hue.

While the photos accompanying this post are not of the this year’s versions, they will definitely end up resembling the original kicks. Fortunately, sneakerheads will not have to wait for each of these individual Jordan Spiz’ike “Cement” colorways to hit the shelves. All four of them will make their retail debut on June 20th, 2017 and each will be available at a price of $160.
