The “Flint” theme returns on one of next year‘s Air Jordan releases 2019. The Air Jordan 6 receives the “Flint” treatment in 2019. In case you don’t know and are wondering, flint happens to be a hard and tough, grey-colored sedimentary rock. It mostly consists of chert or pure silica and is a form/variety of quartz. This is actually not the first time that Jordan Brand has drawn inspiration from the color and texture of this rock for one of their sneaker colorways. In fact, “Flint” is one of Jordan Brand’s prevailing colorways that has previously appeared on a number of models other than the Air Jordan 6.
Jordan Brand’s Previous Air Jordan “Flint” Colorways
Jordan Brand has previously released “Flint” colorways of three of different Air Jordan models. The first of these is the Air Jordan 13 “French Blue/University Blue–Flint Grey,” which originally hit the shelves back in 1998. It later returned in retro form twice, once in 2005 and then in 2010. The second was the Air Jordan 9 “White / French Blue – Flint Grey,” which originally retailed at a price of $125 on May 4th, 2002. Finally, there is the Air Jordan 7 “White / Varsity Purple – Flint Grey,” which made its retail debut on April 22nd, 2006 at a price of $135.
The Air Jordan 6 “Flint” Features A Textured Look
The color scheme of this Air Jordan 6 iteration somewhat resembles the previous “Flint” colorways mentioned above, especially those of the Air Jordan 7 and the Air Jordan 9. Namely, it appears to have Flint Grey-colored suede base with a rock-like texture with textured, plain White overlays on top. Black appears over its heels, inner lining, tongues, as well as its partly White midsoles. Infrared and Purple appear as accents and over the branding, while it is equipped with icy, translucent outsoles. As mentioned, Jordan Brand’s latest “Flint” rendition will be joining next year’s early Air Jordan releases 2019 and will apparently retail at a price of $190.
