It was back in August during OVO Fest when Drake had appeared on stage laced up in this Air Jordan 8 “OVO” that was being assumed to be an exclusive colorway. However, more and more new photos of the Air Jordan 8 OVO have been popping up, especially on sneaker blogs, since the past few weeks. This could probably be hinting towards the potential upcoming Jordan release date of the Air Jordan 8 “OVO,” even though it had not been originally designed to be available to the general public.
Then again, even the Air Jordan 10 OVO was initially created in highly limited numbers for Drake’s family and friends, but the sneaker was eventually mass produced for a wider retail debut. Many Jordanheads are now hoping that that the Air Jordan 8 “OVO” also hit the shelves and this seems more likely than before. Levi Bent-Lee, who owns a restaurant in Toronto and happens to be a friend of Drizzy, shared a photo that provides close-up, detailed, on-foot look at the sneaker. It has already been confirmed that the Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” is returning back this upcoming holiday season, so perhaps the Air Jordan 8 “OVO” may also arrive at retailers too.
From the looks of it, the Air Jordan 8 “OVO” appears to feature a premium buttery black leather construction. The tongue features a chenille patch with a red Jordan Jumpman logo on top, while the gold pull-tab has the OVO owl logo emblazoned onto it. Both the midsole and outsole sport additional gold accents.
There is a possibility that the Air Jordan 8 “OVO” has already or is getting a friends and family release. However, soon or later the public Jordan release of the Air Jordan 8 “OVO” seems inevitable, considering the hype that it has created among Jordanheads and taking note of the release of the Air Jordan 10 “OVO.” So, the Air Jordan 8 “OVO” might not remain exclusive for long.
