Drake Rocks An Air Jordan 9 “Silver Anniversary” Pair At Vancouver’s Rogers Arena

Summer continues to transition into fall and soon, sneakerheads will no longer have a valid reason to lace up in all-white kicks. In this day and age, some would think that all-white sneakers are rather antiquated and unfashionable. However, the truth is that during the hot summer months, one can never go wrong when rocking a clean pair of sneakers that are completely white. Yet, this trend does not generally extend into autumn and it is uncommon to spot all-white kicks during fall. Of course, summer is not over and someone like Drake needs no reason to be laced up in an all-White Air Jordan 9 from six years ago.

air-jordan-9-silver-anniversary-2Six years ago back in 2010, Jordan Brand had celebrated its 25th anniversary and the Jumpman had previewed an entire collection that included all-White colorways of every Air Jordan model that had been released. Eventually, Jordan Brand had only dropped a few of the sneakers from that collection. One of them was the Air Jordan 11Silver Anniversary” release, with only 25 of the pairs bearing the iconic “Jumpman” branding. Ultimately, the Air Jordan 9 “Silver Anniversary” had also hit the shelves and while it is challenging to find a pair these days, Drake was recently spotted rocking this sneaker.

Drake’s and Future’s “Summer Sixteen” tour is still underway, and the two rappers are currently in Vancouver. In fact, they recently performed at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena and Drake was clad in a Vancouver Canucks jersey, but he was also rocking some very special footwear. The Air Jordan 9 “Silver Anniversary” had been a limited release, but considering Drake’s close ties with Jordan Brand, it is not surprising that he owns a pair.

2016 marked Jordan Brand’s thirty-first anniversary and it is unlikely that the Air Jordan 9 “Silver Anniversary” will ever hit the shelves again. However, it is still nice to get a look at an existing pair of this clean, tonal, all-White sneaker as summer nears its end.
