Back in 2014, two custom “Patchwork” and “Red” iterations of the Air Jordan 4 inspired by the Kanye West x Louis Vuitton “Don’s” had surfaced. 23 is Back readers who know about Dank Customs, are probably aware that Jake Danklefs is the one who designed and created these two unique custom kicks. However, apparently the sneaker customizer had no intention of stopping there since he has rolled out another Louis Vuitton Don-inspired AJ 4 pair that will likely not be debuting on any of the upcoming Jordan releases 2015.
As of lately, Kanye West has been making headlines for his latest collaboration with Adidas. However, it is Kanye’s former collaboration project with Louis Vuitton that provided the inspiration for this custom Louis Vuitton Don “Anthracite” colorway of the Air Jordan 4 that Dank Customs created. Just like the two previous Air Jordan 4 custom renditions that Dank Customs had designed, this “Anthracite” colorway also borrows characteristics and elements from the Louis Vuitton Don.
The “Anthracite” nickname of this custom Air Jordan 4 pair refers to its upper, which is entirely dressed up in grey and rests upon a pure white midsole. Dank Customs apparently paid attention to everything possible; hence LV branding is featured on the midsole, side and tongue. This custom new jordans also sports gold and grey tassels as well. 23 is Back readers will agree that Dank Customs has lived up to his name for creating some of the finest custom sneakers.
Ever since the “Patchwork” and “Red” Air Jordan 4 customs had been unveiled by Dank Customs, Jordanheads (including 23 is Back readers) had been yearning to get their hands on both or either pair. If they did not succeed, perhaps the Air Jordan 4 Louis Vuitton Don “Anthracite” might hit the shelves for them to grab on one of the near future Jordan release dates 2015. Dank Customs’ latest creation may even prove to be a competition for Kanye West’s current Adidas project.
