Cool Grey Jordan 1 “Rare Air” Colorway Joins The Black & Red Iteration

As the commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of Jordan Brand continues, more installments of the Air Jordan 1 can be expected to make their way to retailers. The Black and Red “Rare Air” iteration that was unveiled near the end of May was apparently the latest variation. However, the first day of this month brought with it some new photos of an Air Jordan 1 “Rare Air” dressed up in classic Cool Grey that will also likely be making its retail debut on one of the upcoming Jordan release dates 2015.

Overall, this colorway also preserves the iconic aesthetic and profile of the Air Jordan 1 silhouette. Both these “Rare Air” pairs could actually be a representation of one of the early samples of Jordan Brand’s very first signature sneaker model. However, it is not a typical Air Jordan 1 pair; rather subtle details visible on these sneakers have never been present on the usual AJ 1s that have hit the shelves over the years.

Based on what can be seen in the recent photos of this sneaker, the inner lining, laces and Nike Swoosh are covered in Black. The tongue tags are apparently inspired from the pairs in the Air Max celebration and are not the typical Air Jordan 1 tongue tags since they can be removed to reveal the “Rare Air” embroidered beneath. Instead of the Jordan “Wings” logo over the ankles, the embroidered “Air Jordan” can be spotted there. Finally, this pair gets a finishing touch in the form of a crisp, clean White sole unit.

However, at the same time it cannot be denied that both these sneakers exist and Jordan Brand has likely been working on them, which means that they will be up for grabs on one of the upcoming Jordan release dates 2015.
