While the Holiday Jordan releases 2015 had been announced only recently, Jordan Brand had already unveiled their Holiday 2015 releases far earlier than unexpected. Back near the end of February, a rather old photo of Michael Jordan was circulating on the Internet and the sweater MJ is wearing resembled the patterned overlays of an Air Jordan 7 colorway spotted among the Holiday 2015 releases. That this is how this iteration of the Air Jordan 7 was dubbed “Sweater” and these new photos provided a clearer glimpse at what this sneaker looks like.
Back in 1992, McDonald’s was paying Michael Jordan to endorse their fast-food chain. Even though, many popular pro-athletes are hired by McDonald’s to endorse and promote their menu. Since he was their paid endorser, Michael Jordan had appeared in several McDonald’s commercials that year, one of which showed him playing a game of H.O.R.S.E. with Larry Bird. The winning prize in the commercial was the Big Mac meal that was being promoted but Michael Jordan was already looking like a winner, clad in quite a “fashionable,” colorful sweater. It is that sweater worn by Michael Jordan in that commercial that served as a source of inspiration for this upcoming rendition of the Air Jordan 7.
Based on the new photos, it can be seen that this Air Jordan 7 colorway has a leather upper that is almost entirely covered in pure white. Inspired by Michael Jordan’s sweater, the signature upper panels of this AJ 7 pair sport those same funky-looking, multi-colored patterns. From the looks of it, even Michael Jordan himself would love pairing this sneaker with the sweater he donned years ago.
As mentioned, Jordan Brand made quite an unusual move by recently announcing most of the upcoming Holiday November 2015 Jordan release dates. So, sneakerheads who want to grab a pair of this Air Jordan 7 “Sweater” will have to wait until November 14th for this colorway to arrive at retailers.
