Chris Paul seems to have his eyes set on the future. As sneakerheads likely recall, Chris Paul was a member of the Los Angeles Clippers roster up until recently, having spent the past six seasons with them, but that is no longer the case. This month, Chris Paul got traded to the Houston Rockets and he recent spoke in his press conference ever since. He spoke about why he chose the Rockets and what he intends to accomplish from here on. Despite joining a new team, Chris Paul still remains a Jordan Brand athlete, which explains the Air Jordan 11 pair he was rocking during a recent photoshoot.
Judging from his press conference appearance, it seems that he is quite excited to have received a fresh, new start, and the fact that James Harden is among his teammates. While it never really seemed this way on the surface, perhaps Chris Paul was not very comfortable being a member of the Los Angeles Clippers. In fact, it is now being rumored that Chris Paul did not get along very well with coach Doc Rivers and was content with the coach’s decision making. It is also possible that Chris was just tired of the fact that Clippers never got to the Western Conference finals.
This weekend, Chris Paul was officially introduced as the newest member and point guard of the Houston Rockets. Instead of laced up in his one of his own signature CP3 sneakers, Chris was wearing a never-before-seen Air Jordan 11 pair during his first official Houston Rockets photoshoot. At a quick glance, the pair almost looks like the Air Jordan 11 “Gym Red” that will be among Jordan Brand’s Holiday Jordan releases 2017. However, this is not the case though as it features all-Red tumbled leather uppers, including the patent leather mudguards. The only contrasting element is its milky, translucent outsoles.
Jordan Brand must have specially designed this Air Jordan 11 PE pair for Chris Paul as a welcoming present for his arrival in the Houston Rockets and so this colorway will likely not arrive at retailers. However, sneakerheads can look forward to copping the Air Jordan 11 “Gym Red” once it hits the shelves near the end of this year on December 16th, 2017.
