Carmelo Anthony’s Jordan 11 Retro “Red” PE Will Make A Public Retail Debut

It cannot be denied that the Air Jordan 11 is somewhat of the highlight of December 2015. It is already a well-known fact within the sneaker community that Jordan Brand began dropping a new Air Jordan 11 colorway annually, every Holiday Season, soon after the 2008 release of the final “Countdown” Package. This year, the Air Jordan 11 “72-10” has already been confirmed to be a part of Jordan Brand’s Holiday 2015 collection. However, the month of December is apparently going to mark the Jordans 2015 of another Air Jordan 11 rendition, which was initially Carmelo Anthony’s PE sneaker.

air-jordan-11-red-melo-peIt was back in June 2014 when photos of Carmelo Anthony’s Air Jordan 11 “Red” PE began surfacing. However, the sneaker was not exactly a one-of-one exclusive because several other of Carmelo’s fellow professional NBA athletes also managed to get their hands on a pair. Back then it was not even certain whether Carmelo would join the Chicago Bulls or remain with the New York Knicks. Of course, he eventually opted for the latter and while Carmelo Anthony did not move to Windy City, Jordanheads should be glad that their wish was granted since his “Red” PE is going to hit the shelves this month.

Twitter user @_PO2345 was the first to post clear photos of the nearly all-red Air Jordan 11 Retro “Melo” last year. Last year, Michael Jordan had even given Carmelo’s son Kiyan an exclusive, one-of-one in an all-blue UNDS-inspired iteration and his father’s “Red” version is not so different in terms of color blocking. The upper of the Air Jordan 11 is entirely dressed up in firetruck red, while the inner is covered entirely in black. The sneaker also sports white-colored branding, including the Jordan spelled out on the tongue and the Jumpman logo. Last but not least, the sneaker is equipped with the signature combination of a white midsole and an icy outsole.

Despite the fact pairs of Carmelo Anthony’s Air Jordan 11 Retro “Red” PE ended up in the hands of several other individuals last year, there were no hints if they would be up for grabs for the public. Fortunately, the Jordan release date 2015 of the Air Jordan 11 Retro “Melo” is indeed taking place in December, but a date is yet to be confirmed.
