News about the remaining AJ release dates 2015 of this year continues to circulate on the Internet, but this particular post is actually about two sneakers that will hit the shelves next year. No doubt, not even half of 2015 has passed yet, but it is fair enough for Jordanheads to begin looking forward to Air Jordan retro releases that will arrive at retailers on one of the 2016 Jordan releases. Those sneakers are the returning Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” and Varsity Red,” one of which is an OG colorway while the other is not.
Initially, Jordan Brand intended to design that Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” taking inspiration from the official team colors of the Washington Wizards. Anyone one who has gotten a glimpse of the original samples of this sneaker must have seen that those feature copper accents and an outsole covered in black. However, President of Basketball Operations of the Washington Wizards fired Michael Jordan in May 2003 and so Jordan Brand decided that they would not go with the Washington Wizards theme. Hence, the “French Blue” is the non-OG colorway, while the “Varsity Red” is the OG one. The “Varisity Red” iteration was last retroed for the second time back in 2009.
As can be seen, both the Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” and “Varsity Red” are quite alike, considering that they both consist of a textured white upper. One of side of these sneakers, from the midfoot to the toebox is covered in a textured blue and red overlay, respectively, while silver accents can be spotted on both sneakers as well.
While the Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” and “Varsity Red” have indeed been confirmed to be making a comeback next year, no date was spotted amongst the Jordan release dates 2016 that were recently revealed. Nonetheless, it is being rumored and speculated that both these colorways of the Air Jordan 12 will be arriving at retailers on March 26th, 2016.
