Air Jordan sneakers made up of suede have become quite prevalent as of lately. For instance, Jordan Brand has whipped up two brand new Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Premium iterations, a “Black” and an “Ice Blue” one, both of which are scheduled to arrive at retailers in April. The recently unveiled Air Jordan 11 Low GS “Moon Blue” has uppers featuring a combination of nubuck and suede. Of course, there is also the KAWS x Air Jordan 4 entirely Cool Grey-colored suede uppers. Turns out that even the Air Jordan 5 is receiving the suede treatment in the form of two different, brand new colorways.
The two upcoming suede iterations of the Air Jordan 5 actually resemble similar ones of another Air Jordan model. Earlier this month, a suede Air Jordan 1 iteration got unveiled that resembled Jordan Brand’s previous “Red October” releases and many sneakers were wondering if it would end up being a GS-exclusive. However, it turns out that this is not the case, rather Jordan Brand has an entire Air Jordan 1 Suede Collection planned. The collection includes adult-sized pairs of an all-Blue and an all-Red suede rendition of the Air Jordan 1. The two upcoming Air Jordan 5 iterations also seem to be mimicking this theme.
Sneakerheads have already been reading about the Air Jordan 5 “Red Suede” ever since the previous month or so. However, at that time sneakerheads would have likely not guessed that it would not be arriving at retailers alone. At least it seems so because this recently unveiled “Blue Suede” iteration will probably be accompanying it. Of course, it has suede uppers that are almost entirely dressed up in a vibrant Blue tone. Its inner lining is covered in Black and its signature midsole shark teeth pattern is covered in Silver, while the Grey that appears over the tongues might be 3M reflective material.
Since its photos just got leaked, there has not been any official announcement about its retail debut yet. However, since the arrival of the Air Jordan 5 “Red Suede” has been rumored for July 1st, so this “Blue Suede” may also hit the shelves on the same day, and they could end up retailing at a price of $190 for each pair.
