Once 2015 arrives, Air Jordan sneakers from the past three decades will be making a comeback one after the other. Probably two of Jordan Brand’s major lineups that 23isBack readers are looking forward to are the Remastered Retros that will be released and the special editions of classic signatures that will hit the shelves in Laser printed colorways. Of course, the Air Jordan 1 is definitely one of the most important classic Retro silhouettes, already scheduled to be released in a “30th Anniversary” colorway. However, another pair with one of the December 2014 Jordan release dates possibly attached to it will also be dropping before this year comes to an end.
Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul, both of whom are currently Jordan Brand athletes, have already received special PE iterations of the coveted Air Jordan 1. Carmelo has the Air Jordan 1 High Melo and Chris has the CP3, but now Blake Griffin also has his own special colorway of the Air Jordan 1 High, which is named after him. 23 is Back readers who are avid collectors of Air Jordan sneakers are likely quite excited about these special new jordans and they should be because they are not the typical PEs.
Most of the upper of this version of the Air Jordan 1 High is covered in gym red nubuck leather, while the ankle, heel and toe box are covered in white leather. The finishing touches to the sneaker’s appearance are added by the black Blake Griffin “BG” branding on the tongue, Jordan Wings logo and Nike swoosh, and the white midsole.
This “PE” treatment that the Air Jordan 1 has received has probably impressed many of the 23isBack readers, especially because of the fact that it is not really an exclusive pair. Both the Carmelo’s Melo and Chris’s CP3 are both scheduled to make their retail debut on December 20. So, it is surprising if one of the December 2014 Jordan release dates that is attached with the Air Jordan 1 High “Blake Griffin” is December 20.
