The Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG colorway will finally be making its retail debut among the Air Jordan releases 2019 next month. Shortly before the NBA All-Star Weekend, the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 33 NRG “Army Olive” made its retail debut on Valentine’s Day, i.e. February 14th, 2019. Not too long after that, Travis Scoot shared photos in which he was seen holding and wearing in a never-before-seen Nike Air Force 1 Low colorway, though there has been no news about its potential arrival. However, his Air Jordan 1 colorway first mentioned in this post will finally hit the shelves early next month.
As Jordan Brand continues to team up with Travis Scott this year, many upcoming Air Jordan releases 2019 will feature “Cactus Jack” branding. As he joined Maroon 5 and fellow rapper Big Boi to perform during this year’s Super Bowl LIII halftime show, Travis Scott was laced up in a never-before-seen Air Jordan 6 “Cactus Jack” pair. Surprisingly, no surprise release via the Nike SNKRS app took place during the halftime show. Furthermore, Big Boi was rocking an Oregon Ducks-themed pair of the Air Jordan 3. Last but not least, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine was wearing Travis Scott’s own Air Jordan 1 “Cactus Jack,” which will be discussed below.
Travis Scott is going to be collaborating with Jordan Brand once again to design one of next year‘s Air Jordan releases 2019. Ever since Drake allegedly parted ways with Jordan Brand, Travis Scott has become the face and leading representative of the brand from the world of hip hop. Travis Scott’s association with Jordan Brand was actually quite abrupt and it can all be traced back to when he unveiled the Jordan Trunner LX “Cactus Jack” on his Instagram profile (@travisscott) in July 2017. Travis Scott has been avidly collaborating with Jordan Brand in 2018 and it seems that he will continue doing so next year as well.
As you may already know, Travis Scott has recently been a part of Jordan Brand’s advertisement campaign for the debut of the Air Jordan 33. It seems that he is also involved in some upcoming collaborative Air Jordan releases 2018, including a brand new running shoe model equipped with Nike’s REACT foam cushioning. You may recall that Travis Scott wore an Air Jordan 4 “Cactus Jack” iteration during Game 7 of the 2018 NBA Western Conference Finals and you can see it in the photo above. However, Travis Scott recently shared a video on his Instagram profile (@travisscott) revealing that this iteration would not be hitting the shelves.
Last month, Jordan Brand celebrated the opening of their Yonge 306 flagship location in Toronto with a collaborative sneaker release. This release was the OVO x Jordan Trunner LX, which was among the very first Jordan releases during the second week of June. Since it was OVO-themed, the sneaker was dressed up in a combination of Black and White with Gold-colored accents. Of course, this was an a limited-edition release, so Jordan Brand had produced merely 280 pairs, all of which were exclusively available at Yonge 306 store. The Jordan Trunner LX seems to be a part of another upcoming collaborative release, this time involving rapper Travis Scott.
