The three colorways of the Air Jordan 5 from Jordan Brand’s and Supreme’s collaboration hit the shelves on different. Hopefully, Jordanheads were able to grab a pair of their favorite Supreme x Air Jordan 5 iterations, whether from Nike’s online store or select retailers. One particular collector with the Twitter username @optimus517 even received his Supreme x Air Jordan 5 “Camo” not quite as he would have expected, i.e. it came without the original box, apparently a mistake by UPS. While their Jordan release date has already taken place, the Supreme x Air Jordan 5 sneakers have also encouraged avid customizers like SoleOnCanvas to modify them.
Jordanheads should actually consider themselves lucky if they were actually able to cop one of the three renditions that were included in the Supreme x Air Jordan 5 collab. While apparently SoleOnCanvas was apparently was not one of them, he decided to come up with a unique version for himself that is nothing like sneakers thath it the shelves. This is not the first time a Supreme x Air Jordan 5 pair has been customized. Sean Wotherspoon who owns Round Two, a Richmond-based sneaker shop, applied red paint over the front half of his all-white Supreme x Air Jordan 5 pair back in October. While his “custom” job was rather basic, SoleOnCanvas has done something extraordinary.
From the looks of it, it appears as if SoleOnCanvas may have managed to grab all three of the Supreme x Air Jordan 5 iterations, but that might not be the case. Likely inspired by Nike’s “What The” series, he apparently used a regular Air Jordan 5 pair and borrowed motifs from all three of the Supreme x Air Jordan 5 renditions to add onto its upper. Thus, SoleOnCanvas’s custom appears more of a Frankenstein-like sneaker crafted by combining all three Supreme x Air Jordan 5 colorways into one. Even though their Jordan release 2015 took place a while back, the Supreme x Air Jordan 5 sneakers might still be available.
