This Air Jordan 1 “UNC” Looks Just Like The WMNS “UNC” Patent Leather

The latest Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG iteration to join upcoming Air Jordan releases 2019 will be dressed up in a “UNC” color scheme. Of course, this is not the first time that Jordan Brand has released an Air Jordan 1 iteration that draws inspiration from Michael Jordan’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina. While the color blocking and scheme of these iterations has always varied over the years, they usually always feature the hue that has become known as Carolina Blue, also referred to as University Blue. The Air Jordan 1 colorway seen here looks almost exactly like another “UNC” iteration that recently hit the shelves.

This Air Jordan 1 “UNC Patent” Will Debut In February 2019

Jordan Brand seems to have once again drawn inspiration from Michael Jordan‘s Alma mater for one of next year’s Air Jordan releases 2019. Of course, this is not the first time that an Air Jordan 1 colorway has been inspired by the North Carolina Tar Heels. In fact, the OFFWHITE x Air Jordan 1UNC” made its retail debut earlier this year, on June 19th, at a price of $190. The Air Jordan 1 has also featured patent leather in the past. However, it is after quite a long time that Jordan Brand will be releasing a premium Air Jordan 1 rendition completely made up of patent leather.

This Air Jordan 4 “UNC” Will Join Next Year’s Air Jordan Releases 2019

As of lately, Jordan Brand seems to have been dropping quite a few Air Jordan releases 2018 that have been in dressed in the colors of Michael Jordan’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina. Earlier last month, Jordan Brand dropped an Air Jordan 32 “UNC” colorway as a tribute to all the national championships that the university has won over the years. The Air Jordan 32 “UNC” made its retail debut on March 9th, 2018 at a price of $185. The same day, Jordan Brand released a “UNC” colorway of the Jordan Why Not Zer0.1 and now an Air Jordan 4 “UNC” is also on its way. The University of North Carolina, the university where Michael Jordan studied and technically began his basketball career, has always been a leading source of inspiration for Air Jordan colorways. Back in 2015, when the Air Jordan 1 High OG “UNC” was set to arrive at retailers, everyone was fairly certain that the sneaker would not remain on the shelves for long. This was indeed the case, especially since the colorway had made its first comeback ever since Jordan Brand originally dropped it in 1985. Jordan Brand’s Fall & Winter 2017 Releases Will Include These New Air Jordan 6 Colorways

Sneakerheads might be familiar with the Air Jordan 6 Low GS “Mint Foam,” which recently made its retail debut on July 8th, 2017 at a price of $120. The sneaker looks identical to the Air Jordan 13 GS colorway of the same name, which will be joining the Air Jordan releases 2017 that hit the shelves later this month. THis Air Jordan 6 Low colorway has nubuck upper with textured leather underlays, dressed up predominantly in a dark Anthracite hue and featuring Mint Foam-colored detailing. It seems that two of Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan 6 releases for the Fall and Winter months have also been unveiled. There Is An Air Jordan 6 In The Works Inspired By MJ’s Alumni

In 2017, Jordan Brand seems to be quite interested in dropping colorways of its iconic models that are inspired by Michael Jordan’s alumni, the University of North Carolina. Earlier this month, Jordan Brand brought back the Air Jordan 11 Low “UNC.” Carolina Blue was one of the official colors of both UNC and the UNC Tar Heels, the team Michael Jordan played as a part of during his college years. Hence, such colorways are usually dubbed either “Carolina,” “Pantone” or “UNC.” Reports from reliable sources from Twitter users like @DJFolk and @soleheatonfeet, an Air Jordan 6 “UNC” will end up joining upcoming Air Jordan releases 2017.
