On the second day of December, Jordan Brand unveiled their new retro remaster initiative that they have in the works, through which retro Air Jordan iterations will receive the Nike Air treatment, among other improvements. Some of these retro Air Jordan sneakers include the Air Jordan 6 “Maroon,” which has already arrived at retailers, and next year’s OG ’89 “White Cement.” However, the official photos that accompanied the post about Jordan Brand’s retro remaster initiative also showcased the Air Jordan 5 “Black Metallic Silver.” This means that next year could mark the Jordan release 2016 of a remastered Air Jordan 5 “Black Metallic Silver” edition. Jordan Brand kicked off the month of December with an announcement that they are turning their Retro Remaster program up a notch. Jordan Brand claims that various retro Air Jordan sneakers remind Jordanheads of particular games and/or moments from Michael Jordan’s illustrious career. For instance, the Air Jordan 1 might remind them of the time when Michael Jordan scored 63 points, or the Air Jordan 4 might remind them of MJ’s last-minute miracles that he performed laced up in the silhouette. Many Jordanheads who visit 23isBack are probably fans of Air Jordan hybrids. Well, the upcoming Air Jordan 3Lab5 “Metallic Silver” is third hybrid colorway of this year. However, this particular hybrid is certainly not the same as other hybrids, which adds to its appeal. In the case of this hybrid, Jordan 5 has been taken and covered in the elephant print, which is the highlight of Jordan 3. So, sneaker aficionados who are reading this can add July 26th among their anticipated Jordan release dates, and start saving up $225.
Then again, despite the elephant print, this 3Lab5 pair definitely does not look much like an Air Jordan 3 pair in comparison to previous 3Lab5 colorways. It is most likely because of the black and silver colorway, which almost identical to the classic “Black/Metallic” colorway of the Air Jordan 5. Perhaps this gives these kicks a more superior must-have status than previous hybrids. Continue reading The Air Jordan 3Lab5 “Metallic” Has Finally Neared Its Release Date
This news will definitely be of interest for all those 23 is Back visitors who are from Pensacola, Florida. For those who thought that Jordan Brand would not be releasing another 3Lab5 colorway this year, the Jordan release dates 2014 posted on 23isBACK.me make it apparent that this is not the case. An almost all-black colorway of the Air Jordan 3Lab5 is among the latest Jordan sneakers that are to be released in the coming months. Apart the black upper, this pair features accents with some sprinkled on them. Considering that this pair also has a “Metallic” feel, this makes it look somewhat like the Air Jordan 3Lab5 that was released near the end of last year.
This Black and “Metallic” combination colorway of the Air Jordan 3Lab5 also looks quite OG. Based on the images of the pair, the sneaker apparently has the same somewhat blocked upper like its predecessor, which is perhaps a trait that will be featured by future pairs from this line as well.
The Air Jordan 3Lab5 “Black/Metallic” happens to be the third Air Jordan V that is covered is entirely covered in the “Elephant” print. Moreover, the inspiration for this pair comes from the Air Jordan V OGs from 1990. In other words, the colorway and silhouette have been inspired from the pairs that were released in 1990, while the “Elephant” print is inspired from the Air Jordan V of 1988. However, it would not be wrong to anticipate that this pair is going to become a huge hit once released.
Two pairs of the Air Jordan 3Lab5 have already been released during Eastbay’s Air Jordan restock that took place in last month in April. Regardless of whether or not any of their readers managed to cop either pair, they can also dream of expanding their 3Lab5 collection by waiting for the pair to be released. Jordan Brand is yet to announce an official release date for this pair that has created a lot of buzz, but 23isBACK.me will keep you up to date about this and other Jordan release dates 2014.
