The Jordan 6 Rings does not hit the shelves very often, but it seems that upcoming Air Jordan releases 2019 will include a new colorway. The 6 Rings stands out for being one of Jordan Brand’s most unique sneaker models, given that it is a hybrid that it is a combination of the Air Jordan 6 to 8, and the Air Jordan 11 to 14. Its nickname is also a reference to the teams that the Chicago Bulls defeated to become the NBA champions six different times during the 1990s. Last month in February 2019, the Jordan 6 Rings hit the shelves in a Championship-inspired Black and Gold colorway.
The newest colorway of the Air Jordan 14, which will be among next month’s Air Jordan releases 2019, has been nicknamed “Rip Hamilton.” Having played alongside Michael Jordan as a member of the Washington Wizards, it is no secret that Richard “Rip” Hamilton has had quite a strong relationship with Jordan Brand. Throughout the course of his NBA career and after his office retirement back in 2015, Rip has received a wide variety of different Air Jordan PE pairs and early releases. The most recent one was an Air Jordan 11 PE that was dressed up in a Detroit Pistons-inspired color scheme.
As the time for the Proto–Max 720 to join upcoming Air Jordan releases 2019 nears, Nike has revealed sketches that break down its design. Stephane Ashpool’s fashion brand Pigalle Paris recently dropped an editorial photoshoot and released a lookbook for the promotion of the Jordan Proto-Max 720. Much like the debut iteration of the Proto-Max 720, the lookbook has a Gym Red color scheme too and features “Jumpman”-branded apparel as well.
The Air Jordan 8 will be joining upcoming Air Jordan releases 2019 in another “Aqua” colorway, which is actually a women’s variation. Last year in 2019, Jordan Brand released several different brand new colorways of the Air Jordan 8. It all started with the two Air Jordan 8 “OVO” colorways that Jordan Brand released during the 2019 NBA All–Star Weekend. Other Air Jordan 8 releases from last year included the “Valentine’s Day” colorway for women, the “South Beach” colorway, the colorway inspired by the Nike Air Raid OG, and the “Snowflake” colorway. Now it seems that an alternative of a former Air Jordan 8 colorway is on its way.
A Ma Maniére recruited Atlanta-based rapper T.I. to introduce their Jordan Proto-Max 720, which will join upcoming Air Jordan Releases 2019. You may have read a recent post here about the collaboration between Jordan Brand and A Ma Maniére, the Atlanta-based streetwear store owned by James Whitner, who is also the founder of the sneaker boutique, Social Status. A while ago, it was revealed that the collaborative Jordan Proto-Max 720 colorway they had designed was dubbed “Atlanta Nights.” Prior to being officially unveiled by T.I. though, two different surfaced online last week that offered a more closer, side and rear view look at this iteration and its color scheme.
This year’s Air Jordan releases 2019 will include two different “Snakeskin” iterations of the Air Jordan 11 Low, one of which is returning. Snakeskin seems to have become quite a popular motif to have appeared on the Air Jordan 11 Low, especially in recent times. Last year, Nike’s “Art Of A Champion” Collection included an Air Jordan 11 Low “Rook To Queen” that paid tribute to the WNBA championship that Maya Moore won during her rookie season in 2011. Jordan Brand also released an Air Jordan 11 Low “Navy Snakeskin” colorway on April 19th, 2018. However, snakeskin has appeared on the Air Jordan 11 Low in the past too.
