The sneaker reselling business is booming, or so it seems, especially for StockX. It was back in mid-2015 when Dan Gilbert, the majority owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Josh Luber, a collector of rare limited or rare sneakers, had teamed up to establish StockX. The website, which can be described as “a stock market for sneakers,” provides a venue for buying and selling authentic sneakers. Considering that StockX is based in Detroit, which happens to be Eminem’s hometown, it is not surprising that the hip-hop legend and rap god is investing in the company alongside Paul Rosenberg, his manager. Apart from being one of the best rappers of all time, Eminem has also been an avid sneakerhead for quite a long time. Not only that, he has even been fortunate enough to collaborate with Jordan Brand on quite a few projects in the past. Among the sneakers that the collaboration between Eminem and Jordan Brand has produced is the Air Jordan 4 from 2005 that was a friends-and-family-exclusive that Jordanheads still wish to their hands on. Eminem has once again returned to collaborate with Jordan Brand, this time with Carhartt in the mix, for the auction Jordan release 2015 of a new Air Jordan 4 iteration. Back in 2004, Eminem released his fifth studio album, Encore. A year later, Jordan Brand decided to pay homage to the release of Slim Shady’s new album by whipping up the iconic Eminem x Air Jordan 4 that is regarded as an extremely rare sneaker today. After all, the 50 pairs of the Air Jordan 4 colorway that Jordan Brand had created were exclusively for Eminem’s family and friends. This obviously means that this particular post is not exactly about a Jordan release dates, but the fact of the matter is that an Eminem x Air Jordan 4 pair is actually up for grabs at the moment.
The only catch is that most of the sneakerheads reading this could still not afford to get their hands on the pair being discussed. In the past, there have been instances where avid sneakerheads have paid over $1,000 in order to cop a rare Air Jordan sneaker. However, what is far more astonishing is that some sneaker enthusiast spent $37,000 just to be able to add an Eminem x Air Jordan IV pair to their collection. Most sneakerheads reading this obviously likely do not own a pair of the sneaker in question considering that only people who knew Eminem directly were able to get their hands on it.
While $37,000 itself is far too much for a sneaker, the Eminem x Air Jordan 4 that is currently still available is not any cheaper. Someone interested in copping the sneaker will still have to spend $23,000, but they will end up saving $14,000. Of course, the price is still quite outrageous unless some sneaker aficionado badly wants this sneaker.
The Eminem x Air Jordan 4 pair being mentioned here is currently available in “NDS” (worn) condition at The Collection Miami in a size 8. While the Eminem x Air Jordan 4 can certainly not be expected to suddenly receive a Jordan release 2015, those happen to have the amount mentioned above lying around can visit website and consider grabbing the pair.
