The opening night of the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men’s basketball season took place on November 6th, 2018. In the past, there have been complaints that the college basketball’s opening night has not been adequately celebrated, but that is no longer the case. The recent opening night was very eventful, with the highlight being the two top-10 matchups of the 2018 Champions Classic. The Duke Blue Devils dominated opening night and defeated the Kentucky Wildcats with a score of 118-84. However, the Georgetown Hoyas, Marquette Golden Eagles, Michigan Wolverines, and the North Carolina Tar Heels also stood out for being laced up in Air Jordan 33 PEs.
The NCAA basketball off-season is known for being quite eventful. It is during this period that NBA teams begin recruiting collegiate basketball players to join their ranks. Consequently, it also becomes somewhat of an adjustment period for players who are transferred to new teams. Furthermore, the 2018 NBA Draft is scheduled to take place on June 21st and the “Early Entry Entrant Withdrawal Deadline” from the draft is June 11th.
