Amidst this month’s Air Jordan releases 2019, Jordan Brand will release an Air Jordan 3 “Tinker” inspired by the original Nike Air Max 1. If you know your sneaker history well enough, you may have probably figured out why Jordan Brand has chosen to draw inspiration from the Nike Air Max 1 OG colorway for this upcoming Air Jordan 3 “Tinker” iteration. It was Tinker Hatfield who actually began working on the Air Max 1 back in the mid-1980s, applying his architectural background to the design of the sneaker model. Ultimately, the Air Max 1 debuted on March 26th, 1987 as Nike’s first sneaker model equipped with Air cushioning.
The Air Jordan 3 “Tinker” you see here is basically inspired by the Nike Air Max 1 OG “Sport Red” from 1987, which was re-released two years ago on March 4th, 2017 at a price of $140. As you may already know, the Air Jordan 3 “Tinker” is a variation of the model based on Tinker Hatfield’s earlier, original sketches. This particular iteration is dressed up in the same color scheme as the original Air Max 1, consisting of Neutral Grey, University Red and White. Additionally, it will come with four replaceable Nike “Swoosh” logos. This iteration is all set to join this month’s upcoming Air Jordan releases 2019.
