Back in 2014, sneakerheads got a look at a “White” sample pair of the Air Jordan 6, which was featured during the Nike World Basketball Festival that was hosted in Barcelona. It turned out that there was an entire Air Jordan “White” Sample Collection that included other models as well. In fact, this “White” Sample Collection included every model from the Air Jordan 3 all the way to the Air Jordan 14. It is obvious that the Air Jordan 1 was a part of this collection and while the one featured here is also not from that collection, it is still all-White and not a sample.
All of the Air Jordan silhouette from the “White” Sample Collection were equipped with icy translucent outsoles, which is obviously not the case with the Air Jordan 1 seen here. All of those all-White Air Jordan iterations ended up just remaining as samples and none of them have arrived at retailers to date. The Air Jordan “White” Sample Collection was also displayed in Shanghai during Jordan Brand’s 30th Anniversary celebration in 2015. Even Michael Jordan was present there since he was in China to attend the NBA Global Games. At that time, Jordan Brand also partnered with a Hong Kong-based youth center, Youth Outreach.
Coincidentally, the plain-look Air Jordan 1 Mid rendition featured here is actually a GS-exclusive designed to be worn by small-footed sneakerheads. This is obvious a simple colorway that takes a tonal approach so the sneaker’s leather uppers are entirely clean White. This means that just about everything on this sneaker is White-colored, including its inner linings, Jordan “Wings” branding, laces, Nike “Swoosh” logos and its soles. The only exception to this is that its heels and tongues feature contrasting, Black-colored branding.
This is obviously both the first Air Jordan 1 and the first GS-exclusive release of 2017 from Jordan Brand. Fortunately, small-footed sneakerheads will not have to at all to cop a pair because they can head over a nearby local Jordan Brand retailer and own this all-White Air Jordan 1 Mid GS at a price of $85.
