This Air Jordan 5 Is A Premium Iteration Like The “Take Flight” Release

If sneakerheads recall, the most recent Air Jordan 5 Premium release that took place was of the model’s iteration that was a part of Jordan Brand’s “Take Flight” Pack. It is certainly not often that Jordan Brand drops an Air Jordan 5 iteration that retails at a price of $400, but the “Take Flight” one did on February 11th, 2017. Of course, that premium iteration of the model drew inspiration from the Air Jordan 9Olive” and the classic P51 flight bomber jacket. Around that time, an alternate, seemingly all-White premium Air Jordan 5 colorway had also been unveiled and next month it too will be arriving at retailers.

The Air Jordan 5 “Take Flight” that hit the shelves last was definitely not as subtle as the upcoming one, which has simply been dubbed “Pure Platinum.” Its sleek leather uppers were dressed up in a Sequoia Green hue that granted the sneaker militaristic aesthetics. As a part of its sleek design, it was also equipped with Tan-colored leather tongues and icy, translucent outsoles that gave it a refined, lifestyle appeal. The upcoming Air Jordan 5 Premium iteration is nothing like this one, rather it looks more similar to the Air Jordan 4Pure Money” that is set to make its comeback on May 13th, 2017.

It is official that the Air Jordan 5 Premium “Pure Platinum” is joining Jordan Brand’s Spring/Summer Air Jordan releases 2017. This luxurious sneaker may seem rather simple with its plain, entirely Pure Platinum-colored uppers, but it is actually far from that. Wove leather detailing takes the place of the model’s signature TPU side panel netting. It is also equipped with Gold-colored “Jumpman” branding lace tips, leather lining lining, and matching Pure Platinum-colored outsoles. Since this was an alternate “Take Flight” variation, the word “Flight” can be spotted on the triangle-shaped lace lock.

This release very well could have been a part of the “Take Flight” Pack and even though it was not, it is never too late for such a premium release join upcoming Air Jordan releases 2017. Of course, it should be expected that this Air Jordan 5 Premium “Pure Platinum” will retail at a price of $400 on April 22nd, 2017.
