This Air Jordan 5 Is Not Only A Premium Release That Is Wine-Themed

Jordan Brand’s Quai 54 releases on July 8th, 2017 coincided with the retail debut of a brand new Air Jordan 5 Premium iteration. This was the luxurious and tonal “Triple Black” colorway that featured premium leather uppers, all dressed up in sleek Black. It was also equipped with pleated side panels and tongues, and leather midsoles. To add slight contrast, the sneaker was also equipped with smoky, Grey-colored outsoles. Sneakerheads may have assumed that Jordan Brand would now take a break from dropping further Premium releases of the model. On the contrary though, this brand new Air Jordan 5 Premium iteration will be joining Fall’s/Winter’s Jordan releases 2017.

At first glance, this probably looks like a “Bordeaux” colorway, which is somewhat the case. While not as frequent, Jordan Brand has dropped several wine-themed “Bordeaux” colorways over the years. Along with being an alcoholic beverage, wine also happens to be a color. It is basically the color of red wine and “Bordeaux” is another name for this color, which is essentially a dark shade of red, but not as dark as burgundy. One of Jordan Brand’s most recent “Bordeaux” releases was one of the three PSNY x Air Jordan 12 sneakers. The PSNY x Air Jordan 12 was a Milan-exclusive on Nike SNKRS.

The Air Jordan 5 Premium colorway featured here is actually dubbed “Wine.” The very first photos of this sneaker were shared on Instagram by @wopsole. Much like the Air Jordan 5 Premium “Triple Black,” this also looks quite luxurious. Its uppers appear to be made up of premium glossy leather that is entirely covered in either a Bordeaux or Burgundy hue that also covers its midsoles as well. Its side panels are perforated, while it also equipped with leather lace locks with “Flight” printed over them and Tan-colored, quilted inner lining and insoles. Lastly, translucent outsoles add the finishing touch.

Considering that this Air Jordan 5 “Wine” is a Premium release, it should not come as a surprise that it will end up retailing at a price of $400. However, there has been no news about when exactly this sneaker will arrive at retailers, although it will reportedly be among Jordan Brand’s Fall/Winter Air Jordan releases 2017.
