The Houston Rockets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 2 of the 2018 NBA Playoffs with a score of 102-82. P. J. Tucker of the Rockets was laced up in the upcoming Travis Scott x Air Jordan 4 “Cactus Jack” and he was not the only one rocking the sneaker at the Toyota Center arena in Houston. Seated courtside with Kylie Jenner, Travis himself was wearing the sneaker he designed in collaboration with Jordan Brand. It turns out that the Air Jordan 4 “Cactus Jack” will not be the only release of the model arriving soon. Upcoming Air Jordan releases 2018 will include a Toronto Raptors-inspired NRG colorway.
Of course, this is not the first time that Jordan Brand has officially dressed up an Air Jordan model in the team colors of the Toronto Raptors, which are Black, Purple and Red. Back in 2012, Air Jordan retro releases had become quite prevalent. One such release was of the Air Jordan 7 “Raptors,” which was also referred to “True Red,” and it retailed at a price of $160 on September 1st, 2012. Two years ago, Jordan Brand decided to dress up another Air Jordan model in that color scheme. Thus, the Air Jordan 5 “Raptors” ended up hitting the shelves on September 17th, 2016.
Rumors that a “Raptors” colorway of the Air Jordan 4 would be joining this year’s Air Jordan releases 2018 had begun circulating by the time last year was nearing its end. Much like the Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 7, this Air Jordan 4 is predominantly dressed up in Black, including the front end of its soles. Adding somewhat vibrant pops of color, Court Purple- and University Red-colored detailing can be spotted as well. The sneaker will apparently come with a special hang tag that features the “Jumpman” logo. This Air Jordan 4 NRG “Raptors” will eventually make its retail debut sometime soon at a price of $190.
