Fire Red is one of the more noteworthy hues that Jordan Brand has incorporated into some of the most popular Air Jordan colorways. The Air Jordan 3 “Katrina,” which finally made its retail debut this very month, has also been referred to as “Fire Red” since the hue happens to be a part of its Black, Cement Grey and White color combination. Back in 1989, Jordan Brand also whipped up a “Fire Red” colorway of the Air Jordan 4. Considering that next year marks its 30 anniversary, the “Fire Red” will be one of several returning original colorways that will join the Air Jordan releases 2019.
There is actually another Air Jordan 3 “Fire Red,” the original one, which made its retail debut back in 1988. It received the retro treatment back in 2007 and Jordan Brand dropped the retro version once again back in 2013. Even though the Air Jordan 3 “Katrina” has been referred to as the “Fire Red” as well, this iteration is relatively different in terms of its color blocking and scheme. Most notably, the elephant print overlays of the Air Jordan 3 “Fire Red” are covered in Black, while the Air Jordan 3 “Katrina” only featured Black on the branding.
As mentioned, 2019 marks the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 4, so it makes sense if Jordan Brand intends to bring back several of its original colorways, including the “Fire Red” being discussed here. Considering one particular latest trend, Jordan Brand the model may even end up receiving the “Tinker” treatment next year. As for next year’s Air Jordan 4 “Fire Red,” it will look just like the original, with its plain White leather uppers dressed up in Black- and Red-colored detailing, a color scheme that was inspired by the Chicago Bulls. This can be regarded as remastered iteration since its heels will feature the “Nike Air” branding.
In addition to the fact that this colorway will be among next year’s Air Jordan releases 2018, there are several other brand new colorways of the model that will join upcoming Air Jordan releases 2018. As for when exactly the Air Jordan 4 “Fire Red” will hit the shelves next year, keep checking back to SneakersDog to find out.
