Michael Jordan has always been known for his legendary competitive nature, which was the reason that he was so exceptionally successful throughout his NBA career. It is also the reason that following his professional basketball career, he now has one of the most iconic sneaker brands and is one of NBA’s most powerful franchise owners. Of course, not all of Michael Jordan’s athletic endeavors were as successful, such as his foray into motorsports. Jordan Brand even designed an Air Jordan 4 for the “Michael Jordan Motorsports” team. Following the recent comeback of the Air Jordan 4 “Motorsports,” now the Air Jordan 4 “Alternate Motorsports” is arriving at retailers too.
It was quite unfortunate that Michael Jordan Motorsports never really soared as high as the G.O.A.T.’s professional basketball career. As mentioned, Jordan Brand had even designed the Air Jordan 4 “Motorsports as a friends and family-exclusive release in honor of the team. Back in 2006, all of the members of the team had also received a pair of the sneaker and after eleven years, it ended up joining previous Jordan releases 2017 as a retro. Michael Jordan obviously loved motorsports, so it is not surprising that Air Jordan models like the Air Jordan 6, 14, 17, 21 and 31 drew inspiration from automobiles.
Sneakerheads would never have guessed that after receiving the opportunity to cop the Air Jordan 4 “Motorsports,” Jordan Brand would even offer them an alternate variation. Jordan Brand designed the Air Jordan 4 “Alternate Motorsport” as a nod to both Michael Jordan Motorsports team and the Air Jordan 4 colorway it drew inspiration from. Unlike the Air Jordan 4 “Motorsports,” this alternative variation features darker aesthetics, with leather uppers dressed up in a combination of Black, Game Royal, Matte Silver and White.
Jordan Brand will be dropping the Air Jordan 4 “Alternate Motorsport” in full family sizes on June 17th, 2017. So, the adult-sized pairs will retail for $190, the GS-sized pairs will retail for $140, the PS-sized pairs will retail for $80, and the toddler-sized pairs will retail for $60.
