The Air Jordan 33 Has Hit The Shelves In This “Utility Blackout” Colorway

The Air Jordan 33 has once again joined recent Air Jordan releases 2018, this time in the “Utility Blackout” colorway seen back in October. In case you have forgotten, the Air Jordan 33 was officially unveiled during a special event in Los Angeles on September 20th, 2018. The unveiling event was an immersive experience where things like movementmapping sessions took place and new apparel was showcased. The Air Jordan 33 “Utility Blackout” featured here was first unveiled as a part of Jordan Brand’s Holiday Season collection, which several other colorways of the model. All of those colorways, including the “Utility Blackout,” have hit the shelves as of now.

What Makes The Air Jordan 33 More Innovative Than Its Predecessors?

It was Tate Kuerbis who designed the Air Jordan 33. It is the first model from Jordan Brand’s signature Air Jordan line to be completely laceless. It took some explaining, but Michael Jordan was finally on board with the idea after understanding its benefits. Austin Orland, from the Nike Sport Research Lab, led a team of engineers to design the Air Jordan 33’s “FastFitsystem. The system involves pulling on the forefoot strap of each shoe, which swiftly locks them in place. The shoes also have a loop on their outer sides and pulling that loop releases the system and loosens the shoes, similar to jet ejection seats.

The Air Jordan 33 “Utility Blackout” Was Among Jordan Brand’s Final Releases Of November 2018

The “Utility Blackout” seems to be the darkest and simplest colorways of the Air Jordan 33 out of all that have made their retail debut so far. It is just dressed up in a combination of Black and Dark Smoke Grey, which gives it an almost monochromatic look. The overlay around its ankles features the elephant print borrowed from the Air Jordan 3. The only other hues that can be spotted include Sail that appears over the “Jumpmanlogo on the insoles and Yellow that can be spotted over the loops on the sides. Last but not least, it is also equipped with icy, translucent outsoles.
