Perhaps oreos are one of Michael Jordan’s most favorite treats because the “Oreo” theme has been one of the most popular color schemes to have been featured on Air Jordan sneakers. The first time Jordan Brand dropped an “Oreo” colorway was back in 1999 and it was of the Air Jordan 4. After sixteen years, Jordan Brand finally brought back the Air Jordan 4 “Oreo” back in February 2015 and nearly two months later, they even dropped a cleats variation of the sneaker. In case sneakerheads were wondering if Air Jordan releases 2017 would include a similar colorway, apparently the Air Jordan 31 Low is receiving the “Oreo” treatment.
Another popular “Oreo” colorway that Jordan Brand has dropped in the past couple of years was that of the Air Jordan 5. The Air Jordan 5 “Oreo” was actually one of Jordan Brand’s Black Friday releases from back in 2013. That very year in December, Amir Johnson while playing as a part of the Toronto Raptors at that time, rocked the sneaker on the court. Even Michael Jordan himself was a fan of the sneakers, which would the fact that he was laced up in the Air Jordan 5 “Oreo” a year later when he showed up during the 2014 NBA All-Star Weekend in New Orleans.
After being previewed earlier this week, Nike has now even published official photos of the Air Jordan 31 Low “Oreo.” Similar to previous Air Jordan 31 and Air Jordan 31 Low colorways, this one also sports a fading color scheme. The rear portion of this sneaker’s flyweave uppers appear to be covered in bold Black, but it gradually fades into a Light Pink towards the toes. Additionally, it also features its signature subtle branding, both the Jordan “Jumpman” logo and the Nike “Swoosh” branding, which are kind of tonal and barely visible. It is also equipped with all-Black midsoles and icy, translucent outsoles.
The Air Jordan 31 recently hit the shelves on April Fool’s Day in a “Royal” colorway, while a hybrid “What Not?” variation of the model is expected to arrive later this year on April 29th. As for the Air Jordan 31 Low “Oreo,” its retail debut is apparently scheduled for April 15th, 2017 and it is going to be available at a price of $160.
