The Air Jordan 31 Low “Quai 54” Has Already Made Its Debut Overseas

It was quite unfortunate that the French authorities had to cancel the 2016 edition of the Quai 54 World Streetball Championship due to security reasons. The 2017 Quai 54 tournament is scheduled to span from July 8th to 9th, and Evan Fournier of Orlando Magic will be participating, considering that he is was born just outside of Paris. In this year’s edition of the Parisian streetball tournament, Evan will be joining Yard-La Relève, the current French champions. While a couple of days still remain until the Quai 54 Tournament begins, the Air Jordan 31 Low “Quai 4” has already made its debut at overseas retailers.

As every year, the Quai 54 tournament will once again be organized by its founder, Hammadoun Sidibé. This will actually be the first time that Evan Fournier will be playing at the Quai 54 playground and according to Hammadoun, everyone is excited about it. It has also been quite a long time since Evan played before a French audience. Along with the Quai 54 tournament, Evan will apparently also be participating in the FIBA EuroBasket 2017 championship, which will span from August 31st to September 17th. Coach Vincent Collet recently unveiled the names of 18 pre-selected players and Evan Fournier is one of them.

In celebration of the annual Quai 54 World Streetball Championship, Jordan Brand has always dropped special “Quai 54” sneaker releases. In fact, it seems that one of the “Quai 54” Air Jordan releases 2017 has already hit the shelves internationally. It is none other than the Air Jordan 31 Low featured here, which was officially unveiled on July 1st. This iteration features gradient, somewhat tonal uppers that fade from Black to White from the heels towards the toe boxes. The shoes are not identical but are rather mismatched, with Red-colored accents and “Jumpman” branding over the left heels, and Blue-colored detailing and the “Quai 54” logo on the right.

It should not come as a surprise that this sneaker already made its retail debut overseas and this will likely be the case with the rest of the “Quai 54” Jordan releases 2017. However, this Air Jordan 31 Low “Quai 54” is also scheduled for a U.S. release, so stateside sneakerheads will be able to cop a pair for $160 once it arrives on July 8th, 2017.
