Today, the packaging that an Air Jordan pair comes in tend to be as important as they sneakers themselves. If you walk out of a store carrying a box containing an Air Jordan sneaker, not only will it make heads turn, it will very likely be instantly recognizable to anyone who is familiar with Jordan Brand. The history of Jordan Brand’s sneaker boxes can be traced all the way back to the 1985 when the first Air Jordan sneaker hit the shelves. Thirty-three years later, Air Jordan releases 2018 like the one featured here still continue to arrive at retailers in custom and special boxes.
When the Air Jordan 1 “Royal” returned to retailers back in February 2013, it came in the original Black- and Red-colored box as it had nearly 30 years ago. Back in 1987, the Air Jordan 2 came in a box that featured the same “Wings” logo that was on the sneaker itself and it also had a “Made in Italy” symbol stamped onto it. The box of the Air Jordan 3 from 1988 was as even more special and unique as it borrowed one of the sneaker’s most iconic elements. The box was dressed up in the elephant print with the same Black and Cement Grey color scheme.
As you can see, one of next month’s biggest Air Jordan releases 2018 is going to be available in a custom box. The Air Jordan 3 JTH NRG “Bio Beige” is the same iteration that was displayed at Justin Timberlake’s “Man of the Woods” pop-up shop in New York City back in March. As you can see, the top half of the box has woodsy appearance, probably inspired by JT’s album, while the lower half appears to be all-Red. The box features both “Jumpman” and Justin Timberlake’s branding. The Air Jordan 3 JTH NRG “Bio Beige” will make its retail debut on August 28th, 2018 for $200.
