Sneakerheads are likely quite familiar with the fact that it is quite natural and normal for catchy nicknames to accompany sneaker releases, especially those from Jordan Brand and Nike. In fact, plenty of sneakerheads tend to identify sneaker colorways by their nicknames rather than their official color scheme. There was have been sneaker colorways like the Nike LeBron “South Beach” iterations and the Zoom Kobe 6 “Grinch.” One such colorway nickname from Jordan Brand’s countless others is the Air Jordan 13 “He Got Game.” While the Air Jordan 13 iteration featured here is not the “He Got Game” colorway, it is similar and one of the originals.
Back in 1998, Spike Lee had released a film titled He Got Game, which means that it is probably older than many of the sneakerheads reading this. The film stars Denzel Washington and the Air Jordan 13 “He Got Game” makes an appearance in the film, which is how it got its nickname. This Air Jordan 13 colorway was originally simply known as “White / True Red – Black” and had made its retail debut the same year as the film. Along with the Air Jordan 13 “He Got Game,” Jordan Brand had also dropped the Air Jordan 13 “White / Black – True Red – Pearl Grey.”
The Air Jordan 13 “White / Black – True Red – Pearl Grey” is the sneaker featured here. Jordan Brand may not have dropped many Air Jordan 13 releases in 2016, but the Air Jordan releases 2017 will include several OG colorways of the model. These include the “Chutney” and “Flint” iterations. The leather uppers of the sneaker predominantly clean White, while the sneaker’s base and heels feature Red-colored durabuck overlays. Contrasting with the uppers, this sneaker is also equipped with all-Black outsoles and signature Green-colored hologram branding is also featured on the ankles.
Thus, sneakerheads can look forward to several different Air Jordan 13 releases to become available in 2017. Included among them will be this Air Jordan 13 “White / Black – True Red – Pearl Grey” that is scheduled to return on February 18th, 2017 and it is being speculated that its retail price will be $190.
