This Air Jordan 12 GS May Have Been Inspired By The Charlotte Hornets

This Thursday, the 2016-2017 schedule of the Charlotte Hornets had finally arrived. Apparently, the perks of this new schedule include more weekend games, which the Hornets’ executives are expecting will lead to a rise in the attendance at the team’s high-profile games. After the controversial House Bill 2 was recently signed by the North Carolina governor, the NBA decided to move the All-Star Game from Charlotte. While the Hornets’ executives have been in full support of the league and its decision, they are also hoping to make up for the loss of business. This latest Air Jordan 12 GS may have been inspired by their team.

Air Jordan 12 GS “Dark Purple Dust”-2NBA athletes have boycotted the state of North Carolina because of its anti-LGBT bill. Of course, this will directly affect professional basketball teams like the Charlotte Hornets. Fortunately, the Hornets will be playing 41 homes games in total this season, out of which 18 will be weekend games. Back in 2015, 15 of total games the Hornets had played had fallen on a weekend night. Naturally, the attendance at basketball games tends to be higher on the weekends, especially if it is Saturday. Along with all this, the Hornets may have indirectly served as inspiration for this latest GirlsAir Jordan 12 iteration.

Following the retail debut of the Air Jordan 12 GS “Barons” on August 13th, Jordan Brand also seized the opportunity to unveil another brand new GS-sized colorway. However, it is being reported that it will be one of Fall 2016’s Jordan releases, so sneakerheads will not be able to cop a pair until later this year. As for the sneaker itself, this colorway has apparently been nicknamed “Dark Purple Dust” after the hue that appears over its predominantly clean White uppers as well as its inner linings and laces. It also appears to be featuring Metallic Silver-colored pull tabs and upper lace eyelets.
