It should be obvious to sneakerheads that a decent fraction of 2016 has been dominated by the Air Jordan 1 model. In other words, as much as this has been the year of the Air Jordan 12 and a few other silhouettes, it has also been the year of the Air Jordan 1. Before 2016 comes to an end, Jordan Brand is really looking forward to end things with a bang for the Air Jordan 1 by dropping an original colorway. Jordan Brand first hinted the possibility of bringing back a colorway from 1985 in the form of the OG “Storm Blue” back in October of this year.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Storm Blue” has even already made a limited retail debut exclusively in Europe and exclusive in GS sizes. Thus, small-footed European sneakerheads have probably already added a pair of this sneaker to their collection. However, this does not mean that it is making its comeback as a GS-exclusive release. In fact, adult-sized pairs of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Storm Blue” will end up hitting the shelves in the coming week, later this month, just before Christmas. Even though it is not a Christmas- and festive-themed sneaker, it will still be worth copping for plenty of sneakerheads who love originals.
In 2016, Jordan Brand has already brought back several iconic OG colorways of the Air Jordan 1, such as the “Bred,” “Chicago,” “Royal” and “Shadow” colorways. It cannot be denied that lots of sneakerheads happen to be huge fans of these original Air Jordan 1 colorways, but many may also argue that the OG “Storm Blue” colorways deserves equal or even far more admiration. The more photos of the sneaker they come across, the more sneakerheads likely feel like they want to add it to their collection. The all-White base of the sneaker has been contrasted with Storm Blue-colored detailing and overlays. Since it is a true OG, its tongues will also feature the “Nike Air” branding.
It had already been revealed back in October that the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Storm Blue” would make its return in adult sizes on December 23rd. Based on what is being reported, the adult-sized pairs of this sneaker are going to retail at a price of $160.
