This Air Jordan 1 Mid Sports The Opposite Of The Classic “Banned” Colorway

It may not seem so, but the Air Jordan 1 is actually quite a mysterious sneaker, especially because of the history and iconic story of the NBA banning it 32 years ago. The mystery aspect has to do with the fact regarding whether or not it was really the Air Jordan 1 that got banned. There have been reports suggesting that it was actually a Nike Air Ship PE in a “Black/Red” colorway that the NBA banned since it violated their “uniformity of uniform rule.” Yet, Jordan Brand’s “Banned” colorway is now considered memorable and the Air Jordan 1 Mid is now arriving in a “Reverse Banned” colorway.

Jordan Brand dropped the Air Jordan 1 Retro “Banned” first back in June 2011. Two years after that, the sneaker once again made its way to retailers back in 2013. Three years later, the Air Jordan 1 “Banned” made its highly anticipated comeback last year in 2016. The same year, Jordan Brand also dropped the Air Jordan 1 Satin “Banned.” The Air Jordan 1 “Banned” was so much in demand last year that it even got restocked at a few select retailers. In fact, the Air Jordan 1 “Banned” even got restocked on Nike SNKRS this year back in August 2017.

Now it seems that Jordan Brand is adding a twist to the classic “Banned” colorway for the Air Jordan 1 Mid and this colorway has been appropriately dubbed “Reverse Banned.” The uppers of this sneaker are made up of a combination of smooth and tumbled leather. Although it still sports the classic “Bred” color scheme, it gets its “Reverse Banned” nickname from the fact that its uppers are predominantly dressed up in Red, with Black appearing as a secondary hue. Black can be spotted over the ankles, branding, heels and the Nike “Swoosh” on the sides. Additionally, it is also equipped with all-White-colored midsoles and all-Red-colored outsoles.

Considering how festive-themed this sneaker kind of appears to be, it may actually end up joining Jordan Brand’s Holiday Jordan releases 2017. Although it has not been confirmed when exactly this Air Jordan 1 Mid “Reverse Banned” is arriving, it will reportedly retail for $110.
