Its Nike’s unique ability to target markets with diverse choices and unique preferences but still managing to combine features in its shoe models that would attract more than one target market and carry out the task with finesse. Now who would’ve imagined that one single release in the footwear scene would be able to target basketball aficionados and baseball enthusiasts alike? Well, Nike had the answer in the form of Air Jordan 1 “Metallic Silver” Edition. Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan 1 High “Top 3” may not exactly be geared at multiple diverse markets, but it definitely draws inspiration from Nike’s long lineup of mismatched “What The” releases.
The story behind the Air Jordan 1 “Metallic Silver” was that Michael used to actively participate in Minor League Baseball events and during his young age he performed remarkably and had the showings of a talented baseball player, although the age was such that he committed many errors on field, too. However, his performance outlasted the errors. Michael used to represent Chicago’s White Sox team. This makes this shoe a must have for the lovers of both sports. White Sox fans would love to have a shoe with their team pinstripes and colors on it, while the basketball fans would have one representing Michael’s teenage baseball team.
There is no denying that that the almost hybrid-like Air Jordan 1 iteration featured here is Jordan Brand’s version of a “What The” colorway. The only exception is the fact that it is made up of mixed and matched portions of the model’s top 3 colorways, namely the “Banned,” “Chicago” and “Royal,” which is the reason it is nicknamed “Top 3.” It was @zsneakerheadz who recently shared above photos on Instagram, which provide sneakerheads a look at both sides of this sneaker. Considering the colorways that have been merged together, it is dressed up in a color scheme of Black, Blue, Red and White.
Sneakerheads had likely already known that this sneaker was going to be one of the Holiday Season 2016’s Jordan releases. However, they had probably not expect the Air Jordan 1 High “Top 3” to be a Black Friday release because it will retail for $160 on November 28th.
