Back in 2014, Jordan Brand opened a Flight 23 flagship retail store in New York City and in celebration of the occasion; they dropped the Air Jordan 1 Retro High “NYC” exclusively in the Big Apple. The sneaker was a result of the collaborative efforts of both Jordan Brand and Public School, which is the reason that the signature heel branding of the sneaker a “23” and an “NY.” The sneaker was designed to be relatively simple, yet it was somewhat surprising that it was equipped with an icy outsole. Public School and the Swoosh unite once again for the release of yet another Air Jordan 1 Retro High that pays tribute to Los Angeles.
Even though the New York-inspired release of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG did not leave too much to be desired, Jordanheads on the West Coast are surely glad that such a sneaker will arrive near them. When comparing the two, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High “Los Angeles” even appears to be superior to its predecessor. This Air Jordan 1 Retro High quite effectively and impressively pays tribute to the City of Angels with this “Los Angeles” iteration that will be better suited to be worn during summer.
The high-top leather base of this Air Jordan 1 is dressed up entirely in crisp white, while the inner lining is covered in a tan-like hue. Apart from the tonal branding and stitching that this sneaker features, it is also equipped with a matching white midsole. Much like the Air Jordan 1 Retro High “NYC,” this Los Angeles-inspired version has also been given an icy outsole, which have “Los Angeles” spelled out beneath them. Of course, instead of “NY,” the heel sports an embossed “LA” along with the “23” on the other.
The date for the Jordan releases 2015 of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High “Los Angeles” remained unannounced for quite some time. Fortunately, it was confirmed not so long ago that this special sneaker will exclusively hit the shelves in the City of Angels on November 14th.
