By the end of March when Instagram user @realchickenwop has posted the very first photos of this sneaker, it became obvious that the Air Jordan 17+ would not just be returning in the “Copper” iteration. Of course, the Air Jordan 17+ “Copper” has already made its comeback this past weekend on April 9th and it retailed at a price of $250. However, this other colorway of Jordan Brand’s seventeenth model will not be hitting the shelves until the end of next month. Whenever a sneaker like this sports a “Bred” color scheme, it becomes obvious that it is in some way inspired by the Chicago Bulls.
However, there is actually a valid reason behind why this black and red Air Jordan 17+ colorway is being referred to as “30,000 Points.” Not only does this sneaker draw inspiration from the Chicago Bulls, it is also inspired by an unforgettable milestone that Michael Jordan crossed, but it was actually not a part of the team he began his professional basketball career with. On January 4th, 2002, Michael Jordan was a member of the Washington Wizards and during a game against his former team, the Chicago Bulls, the G.O.A.T. scored 30,000th point of this career. That is where this sneaker gets its nickname from.
Even though Michael Jordan made one of his biggest career achievements against the Chicago Bulls, this Air Jordan 17+ colorway borrows their official team colors. Hence, the leather uppers of this sneaker are dressed up almost entirely in ominous black, while its ankles, Jordan branding and lace eyelets all feature gym red detailing. The sneaker is even equipped with clean white outsoles as well, which complete the Bull-inspired color scheme.
Considering that the Air Jordan 17+ just made its retail debut so recently, so it is not surprisingly that this upcoming rendition is slated to arrive at retailers next month. Fortunately, it is being reported that the Air Jordan 17+ “Bulls” will hit the shelves on May 29th and its retail price will be $250.
