Currently, a very hyped up, combined Nike and Jordan release dates is the impending arrival of this year’s Nike x Doernbecher Freestyle Collection. Sneakerheads are probably already aware that the upcoming Doernbecher x Nike/Jordan Brand lineup will include an Air Jordan 13 rendition. However, it will apparently be accompanying three other silhouettes, all four of which have been unveiled by a very trustworthy sneaker source. This means that sneakerheads are getting an unofficial early preview of the Nike x Doernbecher Freestyle Collection, which is still a few month away from being unveiled.
It was back in mid-July when another legitimate sneaker source revealed via Twitter that the Air Jordan 13 was selected as the model to represent Jordan Brand in this year’s Doernbecher Freestyle collection. Many sneakerheads were expected and hoping the Air Jordan 7 to be included since it is the 23rd Anniversary of the model, but this did not turn out to be the case.
The Doernbecher Freestyle program was established back in 2003 and it is still going strong. Living up to its annual tradition, brave and resilient children from OHSU’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation have been handpicked to design custom iterations of popular Nike/Jordan Brand sneakers. The entire collection will be joining this year’s Jordans 2015. This year’s young designers include Emory Maughan, Isaiah Neumayer, Jacob Burris, John Charles, Kian Safholm and Lizzy Olivan, who will be putting their creativity to use in order to customize four particular silhouettes.
Apart from the Air Jordan 13, this year’s Doernbecher x Nike/Jordan Brand collection will comprise of a Nike Air Max 2 CB ’94, a Nike Air Max 95, and a LeBron 13. The photo seen here is merely a black and white representation of the sneakers, which means that there is still no way of telling what they will actually look like. This much that the Doernbecher x Nike/Jordan Brand Freestyle Collection is a Nike and Jordan release 2015 that is arriving in the coming months, more specifically on October 23rd.
