Last year in November, Spike Lee was awarded with an Oscar to honor the contributions he has made to the film industry. In the light of his achievement, Jordan Brand also decided to present him with some gold in the form of a pair of kicks that he could rock, namely an exclusive nearly all-Gold Air Jordan 6 pair. Golden kicks are somewhat of a rarity, but if this latest news turns out to be true, Spike Lee might not be the only one rocking Gold-colored sneakers. Apparently, this year could mark the Jordan releases 2016 of a golden Air Jordan 4 colorway.
Until now, it was being reported that Spike Lee was the only one in possession of the Air Jordan 6 “Oscars” pair. The Collection Miami somehow managed to get their hands on either the same or another Jordan 6 “Oscars” pair and recently posted several detailed photos of it on their Instagram account. Readers who use Nike’s SNKRS app may have noticed a mysterious placeholder page that showed up, featuring this Golden Air Jordan 4. Along with a photo of the sneaker itself, the page also contains a photo with a gradient all-Gold background and words “Reserved-Unlock” printed at the top.
Sneakerheads probably feel this Air Jordan 4 pair looks familiar because it seems like it has received the “Liquid Metal” treatment that several of Nike’s models have in the past. The entire sneaker is dressed up in a coat of metallic Gold that makes this glossy, lustrous sneaker look like an award or statue. For some unknown reason, a photo of the recently released Air Jordan 4 OG ’89 “White Cement” accompanies the photo of this sneaker on the page.
Considering that this page appeared on Nike’s SNKRS app, it is very like that the Jumpman is probably up to something. So, stay tuned because they may soon announce further details for the Jordan release 2016 of this all-Gold Air Jordan 4.
